The FS features an under-saddle section made up of a specific sequence of membranes that work dynamically to create a "bond" between your horse and the saddle.
In fact, the component under the FS portion of the pad in contact with the horse is made of a soft material that follows the horse's movements without creating resistance. This minimizes friction between the horse and the saddle pad.
The outer face of the FS portion is made of a material with a very high coefficient of friction, making it adhere to the saddle. This soft, resistant material clings to the saddle leather, acting both as a stabilizer and to accentuate the FS effect of the saddle pad.
In fact, as neither surface allows friction (either between horse and pad, or between saddle and pad), movement is naturally redirected towards the interior of the FS portion of the saddle pad.
This is composed of a sequence of membranes with a very low coefficient of friction, sliding easily against each other. The movement is therefore redirected towards these membranes of lower resistance, minimizing all the resulting friction we wish to avoid for the horse, which can cause abrasions and injuries under the saddle.
Since the quality and fit of today's saddles are unquestionably excellent, it's not always appropriate to use half pads. However, Jackie & CO.'s FS technology provides a remarkable complement, protection and extra freedom of movement.
